Engine
Yamaha FZ16 has a 153cc, air-cooled, 4 strokes, and SOHC engine. This engine produces maximum power of 14 Bhp @ 7500 rpm with maximum torque of 13.6 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The 153cc engine of this bike is mainly designed for the city roads. It has broad tyres, low center of gravity and high torque at low rpm. These features give it an easy drive in the city. It has a good acceleration rate of 0-60 kmph sprint in just 5.5 seconds. The mid range thrust and the highly tuned throttle has been designed to make it a powerful bike.
Looks and Specifications
The FZ 16 has a muscular and stylish look. This bike spells big in everything. It has wide tyres, the huge tank, and the muscular forks. It delivers unmatched performance. From side it looks quite sporty and possesses an athletic look. It has a full liquid crystal display (LCD). The speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and other indicators are set very well. It also features engine-starting signal.
It possesses a steel fuel tank with a plastic resin outer cover. It has a two-layer type exhaust to minimize the effect of heat on the pipe. It features an irregular shaped tapered type mid-ship muffler. A Monocross rear suspension unit providing 120 mm of wheel travel, offers a comfortable ride. All FZ models have kick start option. It comes in Lava Red and Midnight Black color. Yamaha India has also launched Midnight Special Editions of FZ16, FZS and Fazer to commemorate the festive season.
The bulb’s illumination and the type of light unit employed in this bike give greater freedom of design. It gives an aggressive look to the front view. The transparent lens gives this it a very stylish look. Its rear tyre is India’s first radial tyre with a 60% aspect ratio. Both the front and rear tyres on this model are tubeless type and gives more stability and less prone to sudden flattening.
